When visiting Prince Edward Island in 1979, Jacob Hiemstra fell in love with the
beauty of the Island, the warmness of its people and the
Island way of life. Over the next few years, Jacob returned to the Island several times with the intention of starting a business.
This resulted in the purchase of the Southport Motel in 1983. Since then the RV Park was added and the motel was expanded to include more
units.
Although Jacob still lives in Holland in the winter, he chooses to spend his summers on PEI, residing in a house on the property. Each year Jacob looks forward to returning
to Charlottetown for another exciting tourist season. Jacob
works closely with his management team to ensure your stay is worry free and informative.
